So I have to first admit that Hunter has been to the Disney theme parks more in his two years than I could have dreamed to go in my childhood (although the 1,200 mile commute prevented many a day trip for the Hayes family living in Wisconsin). During our many visits Emily and I often ride the monorail and train with Hunter, which he just can’t seem to get enough of. During our many train excursions around the Magic Kingdom, Hunter often wants to stand up on the bench so that he can see better. When he requests this we point to the “no standing” sign on the seat back in front of us and he understands that this golden rule is not to be broken. Fast forward to recently, Emily and I have had occasion to request Hunter be seated when at the dinner table. Being the bright little guy that he is, he simply turns to us and says “Where’s the sign?” Don’t be surprised the next time you visit the Hayes household to see the “no standing” sign posted on the backs of our kitchen chairs. Kids are funny.
