After a delicious Sonny’s BBQ dinner sponsored by Vern Shukoski, I bid adieu to the Harvest boys and headed back to Orlando. Sara and Zach arrived in Orlando at 1:00 o’clock that afternoon and Emily picked them up at the airport and entertained them the entire day. I arrived home from the Harvest at 11:30 p.m. and the house was silent so I hit the hay to get some rest before our full day of activities on Sunday.
We awoke on Sunday, ate some breakfast, and decided it was a perfect day to enjoy the Magic Kingdom. Since Zach had not been to the Magic Kingdom in awhile we let him pick some of the activities we would do. After we discussed some options we got in the car and headed to WDW. We decided to eat lunch at the Polynesian Resort at the quick service restaurant because Emily and I both love their pulled pork sandwich. Since Sara has pretty simple taste we thought she could get her usual pizza or salad anywhere, so what better place than the Polynesian.
We devoured our delicious lunches and took Hunter’s favorite means of transportation to the Magic Kingdom, the monorail. The boys enjoyed the sights and sounds as we traveled on the highway in the sky. After disembarking from the Monorail we headed into the Magic Kingdom and took the train to Frontierland to go to Zach’s much anticipated trip on the Pirates of the Caribbean. Zach was very happy with the ride as well as the smorgasbord of pirate toys awaiting him at the exit.
We enjoyed the rest of the day in the park riding a few more rides and eating some delicious ice cream. The group was getting tired so we headed out around 5:00 p.m.
The final event of the night was watching the shuttle launch at 7:43. We stood out in the backyard with cameras in hand and watched as the stream of light traveled across the sky. The boys were amazed as they watched the dusk skyline. They then decided they wanted to run around and chase each other which turned into quite an amusing evening. Check out the photos from the day below.
