Whataburger Food Review | Gainesville, FL
Review – Aside from the hostile surroundings of an enemy town, our first stop for sustenance on our road trip was highly satisfying. Having heard rave reviews of Whataburger from coworkers Tina and Devonne, we were expecting to be impressed. And we were. After ordering, we were given a number and told our food would be brought out to us. What?!?! In a FAST FOOD restaurant? Nice touch. When the food came, it was all fancily wrapped in nicely colored paper with no visible grease penetrating the wrapper.
Now for the food… Although my “junior whataburger meal” was a little less food than I am accustomed to consuming in one sitting, the flavor and freshness were top notch. A few bites of Patrick’s double whataburger were everything a burger should be – great meat to bun-and-topping ratio, along with a delicious buttery quality rarely experienced in a fast food burger. Other highlights of the meal included the ketchup tubs (as opposed to the messy rip-open packets standard in most fast food establishments), which were perfect for the dunking of a handful of fries at a time. My own personal favorite was the inclusion of strawberry Fanta on the soda fountain. On most every road trip I can recall since I was a child, I have always had strawberry soda. I never drink it outside of road trips, but for some reason, it speaks to me on these trips. I looked for it before we left but could not find it in the grocery store. Alas, Whataburger came through for me, and the road trip got off to a perfect start.
