Downtown Mendocino, CA
After 11 hours of sleep we were finally ready to start our day! The weather was in the 50’s, which was a great change of pace from the Florida summer heat! We started the day by taking a walk through the downtown Mendocino, CA area. We then took a walking trail that took us along the coastal waterfront. The pictures that we took did not do justice to how beautiful it was.
After a little shopping we ended up eating lunch at the Bay View Café. Emily had the crabmeat sandwich and I had the steak sandwich.
Both were delicious. We then returned to the room for hot stone massages which all but put us to sleep.
After the massages we attended the nightly wine hour and were off to dinner. We ate dinner at the Mendocino Café; meal was average at best. Guess that is what you get for getting burritos in Mendocino! We are still in search of the signature dish of northern California. Maybe we found it yesterday at Jack in the Box.
Leaving the restaurant we got to see the beginnings of the lunar eclipse. Doesn’t happen too often, so that was pretty cool. Greeted again by our deer friends when we returned to the inn, maybe they were waiting for our leftovers!
