As we awoke to our human alarm clock, the cruise ship was making it’s final crawl to Disney’s private island Castaway Cay. We were all very excited about this stop because everyone I had talked to, including Emily, said it is one of the most beautiful places around. They all could not have been more correct. As we approached the… Read more »

Disney Wonder – Day 2 – Nassau, Bahamas

As with most of our vacations with Hunter, we found ourselves awakened by our personal rooster before the sun had a chance to rear its head. But this time around, Emily and I had already resigned ourselves to the schedule that is Hunter-driven! We all got showered and dressed, then made our way to the Beach Blanket Buffet, grabbed some… Read more »

Disney Wonder – Day 1 – Depart Port Canaveral

Comments Off on Disney Wonder – Day 1 – Depart Port Canaveral

Today, we excitedly departed our house in Orlando and made the 40 minute drive to Cape Canaveral to board Hunter’s and my first cruise. As we made our way to the Cape we commented on how lucky we were to live so close to the port to take advantage of vacation deals when they arise. Hunter had been prepped over… Read more »

Hunter plays in our closet and loves to look at my jewelry. This morning Patrick was getting dressed and Hunter came in. Patrick said, “Hey Hunter, what are you doing?” Hunter said, “Looking at necklaces. Hmmmm… what necklace should I wear to Target??”

First I have to say that Hunter has a new way of communicating with me that can best be described as ‘bossy indignation.’  Wonder where he picked this up… So today I was unloading the dishwasher and Hunter was flitting about hanging on my legs (millions of toys to play with but never more interested in Mommy than when I… Read more »

Happy 4th of July

Comments Off on Happy 4th of July

We hope that all of you reading this had a very enjoyable 4th of July.  The Hayes family had a really fun day.  The day started with a long-standing Griffin (Emily’s family) tradition of decorating the kids’ bikes and strollers and having a parade.  We invited some friends of ours who had kids over to join in the festivities.  Although the weather… Read more »

Hunter and I were having some of Emily’s delicious spaghetti at dinner tonight.  Hunter was not interested in the noodles so I helped him sort out the dish to get to the meat sauce.  When I asked Hunter what he like more the noodles or the meat he said “more neat!”
