Hunter’s Week in Three Words – Week Forty

Ah Christmas time is near which always means one thing for certain, Grandma Jean sends her annual batch of pfeffernusse cookies!  These bad boys are hard as a rock and might not be packed with the most flavor your ever tasted, but they represent Christmas and they are good!  This year Hunter really took a liking to the pfeffernusse and asked for them on many occasions (most likely because of the earth shattering crunch)!  Being the giver and sharer that Hunter has become he said, unprompted, “We should bring these over to Grandma Curly’s and share them with Uncle Drew, Aunty Fran, Grandma and Pop Pop.”  I was so happy that Hunter thought of this great idea that I really wanted to take them with us.

Fast forward to us getting in the car and I thought it would be a wonderful idea to just set the cookie tin on top of the car while I put Hunter in his car seat.  “I won’t forget,” I thought.  Before we headed to Grandma’s, we of course needed to stop at Starbucks because that was on the way???  Twenty minutes into our trip to Starbucks, I realized that I think I forgot to take the cookies off the top of the car.  I was not happy.  When we got to Starbucks, we checked the top of the car, but there were no cookies.  After we got our drinks we began to retrace our drive and search for the tin.  Thank goodness we found it (in the entrance of our neighborhood)!  Even the strength of these cookies (which was quite a hot topic on Facebook) couldn’t withstand the beating that the car must have given them.  The tin wasn’t the only thing crushed… Hunter cried SO hard when we had to tell him the cookies were all gone.  Thanks Grandma Jean for sending us more.  Sorry Mike Hayes that you got gypped out of your cookies due to my negligence!
