As I mentioned in my previous post about our grilled breakfast pizza, we are still addicted to our new favorite hobby, grilling pizza.  Today’s project was to create a delicious grilled buffalo chicken pizza.  I set the bread machine in the afternoon as Emily worked almost the entire day pressure washing the front of the house.

When the dough was ready I used some of my newfound pizza dough knowledge to make an almost circular dough which we precooked on the grill on one side.  The first few times I tried this I tried laying the dough out on the grill which ended in shapes undefined by even the most experienced geometry teachers.  I have gotten smart on my last couple attempts utilizing the pizza pan to start the cooking process and then sliding it onto the grill when the dough is in a more cooked state.  Below is a photo of step one of the grilled pizza process including pizza pan.

After the pizza is cooked on one side, we bring it in, spread with EVOO (as Rachel Ray calls it) and flip it over to spread our delicious toppings over the cooked side.  This is where Emily takes over because she is the toppings goddess and has a bit more attention to detail when it comes to these endeavors.  First she spread the entire base of the pizza crust with ranch dressing seen below.

After a nice coat of ranch dressing was applied, she added the shredded cheese, sliced tomatoes, poblanos, and onions below.  Even the organized placement of these toppings screams Emily.  Her handiwork is displayed below.

After the vegetables were arranged according to size and estimated time sliced, Emily added pulled chicken (from a Publix precooked chicken) and drizzled buffalo sauce over the top.  At this point the Emily stamped her seal of approval on the pizza and agreed that it was ready for cooking.

I slid the masterpiece back on the grill to finish off our pizza perfection.  Below is the finished product ready to take off the grill and devour.

It was probably our best pizza to date due to the fact that we finally landed on the right pizza crust thickness and toppings mixture.  Although not complete perfection, we were quite happy with the outcome of our grilled buffalo chicken pizza.  If you have any ideas for our next grilled pizza please leave a comment below.
