(AP) 3/4/05 – After a 36 hole Friday in sunny FL, the leaderboard has changed quite a bit from end of day on Thursday. It turns out that when Don Hayes asked the question about the greatest comeback in Harvest history, that wasn’t just the rum talking. Don shot a second round 70 to add eight points to his point total surpassing the entire field. Kent Dickson, putting together two solid rounds which consisted of 5 birdies is hot on Don’s heels with seven points.
After round two there was a three way tie for first with Kent Dickson, Tom Hayes, and Patrick Hayes. Kent was the only one of the three to maintain his stamina during the third round. Patrick Hayes decided the third round was the perfect time to choke and scored -8 points to join the first group on Saturday. Tom Hayes, who played with Patrick for the second round on Friday said “the only thing wrong with Patrick’s game this round was off the tee, around the green and putting. Other than that he played well!”
News sources confirmed that Vern Shukoski has put his house in Florida up for sale, and his clubs are being auctioned off on EBAY after he disclaimed he is done playing golf forever. Jim Hayes’ travel agent was unable to rearrange his flight back to Arizona so he decided to stick around and pick up a couple points today. When asked for a comment Jim said “I am sick of the bad press I am getting on Hayesvision.com, I came to win, and that is just what I am going to do!”
As always the final round on Saturday is guaranteed to be exciting and anything is possible, well everything except a Vern Shukoski/Patrick Hayes two way tie for first. Stay tuned to Hayesvision.com, the only source for the 2005 Harvest Classic Golf Outing!
