In an effort to try to live more in the moment in 2019 (and beyond), I am going make a concerted effort to pause and capture photos throughout the day/week as a reminder to slow down and enjoy the moment.
After fun night with family celebrating the end of 2018, and a brief nights rest to follow, I awoke to find Emily in the family room who had been up all night with Peach (the dog). Peach has been struggling with an upset stomach for the previous few weeks, so I sent Emily to try to get some sleep and I took Peach out for our morning stroll. As we stepped out the door we were greeted by a neighborhood blanketed by heavy layer of fog. Being the first day of January at 6:30 am, the streets were as quiet as I have seen them in a long time. The perfect morning to enjoy a calm walk around the block.
We took one of our normal morning walking routes and as I rounded the corner to the wooden walking bridge that enters our neighborhood, I saw a street light shining through a palm tree which I thought was unique. The thick coating of fog in the air enhanced the beams of light through the tree. Peach was patient enough to let me enjoy the moment and even capture a couple images before we continued on our walk. Not a bad way ring in 2019!
