Sunday at the Magic Kingdom

06.07.09-12.jpgThose of you who read A cloudy, fun Saturday  remember that we attempted to embark on Hunter’s first roller coaster ride, only to end the event in tears as the ride was closed due to inclement weather.  We decided after a couple weekends of sitting around the house due to illness, we would venture out to the Magic Kingdom in hopes that round two would be a winner.

We set out as we always do and grabbed a bite to eat at the Polynesian Resort , followed by the monorail to the Magic Kingdom.  The only thing different about today was that Emily got06.07.09-22.jpg up at 7:30 (mornings are like the dentist to Emily — avoid at all costs — no offense Dr. Z).  The great thing was that we arrived at the Magic Kingdom around 10:00, and the crowds had not yet developed.  After we checked out a Disney stroller (great call Em), Emily and Hunter spotted the horse trolley that Hunter was fired up to ride on.  This they did while a barbershop quartet sang from the back row.  I followed alongside with the empty stroller, ready for the photo ops.  After the trolley tour and some fun castle photos (we were literally the only tourists in front of the castle – score!), we grabbed our fast passes for the “Buzz” ride and headed back to Toontown to beat the rush.  It was perfect as there was no wait ,so we snapped a few pictures for Hunter’s Week in Three Words, and Emily and Hunter made their way to the launch pad.

After the lengthy 45 second flight on the Barnstormer, Hunter and Mommy deplaned with crooked smiles.  When asked, Hunter said he liked it, but when asked if he 06.07.09-17.jpgwould go again, he emphasized he would be happy to ride the “Buzz” ride.  Lest we forget the train, though, we decided to take a grand circle tour from Toontown before it was time for our Buzz fastpasses.  We took the train from Toontown to Frontierland and got off the train to explore.  After pictures with Donald “Davy Crockett” Duck, we walked around and made our way back to Tomorrowland to ride the Space Ranger Spin.  Daddy dominated again (as usual) scoring 999,999 points (it helped that the the ride stalled three times).

After we completed our journey through the galaxy, Hunter was losing the battle with his eye lids, so we decided to head out.  On the way out, Hunter saw the horsey carriage and said he wanted to ride that “ONE MORE TIME.”  This time, I rode and Emily took the pictures.  It was a fun experience we don’t get to do all the time.  It was lunchtime when we left, so Emily and I were excited because we agreed that we would pick up Five Guys burgers on the way home.  We have been craving them for a couple months, and particularly since we watched the NBC special the other night where the President went there!  If you have not had these burges, there is no distance too great to travel for one, trust me.   Hunter woke up when he smelled the fries, so we hurried home and devoured our healthy lunches.

It was a pretty perfect day with the family and the camera.  Enjoy the photos.
